リーディングについてはこれといった方法は断言できず、現在方法を模索中であるとしか言えない。
何しろ時間が少ない。むしろ問題が多いというべきか。
リスニングは順番に、強制的に進んでいくので制限時間という概念がないが、リーディングは自分のペースで進むので、気がついたら残り時間に対して残問数が多すぎるということになる。
これについては速読の習慣をつけるとか、あるいはそもそも問題全部を読まなくていいように関係のあるところだけを読むだとかいろいろな説があるようだが、まずは英文を見たときのアレルギー、拒否反応をなくしていくことが先ではないか。英語は友達。「TOIECは、日本の皆さんの敵ではありません。I am Kenji.」

そもそもこのブログの目的は何か?
→狂気の試験TOEICで点数を取れるようにすること。
何点でもいいのか?
→高得点を目指す。
何点以上を持って高得点と定義するのか?
→その定義は難しいが、分類上最高ランクの860点以上なら高得点とみなせるのではないかと思われる。
本ブログではきりのいいところで900点以上ということにする。
もちろん990点満点をとれれば最高ではあるが、そこにこだわるのではなく、900点ぐらいの実力がついたら英語だけにとどまらず、中国語、韓国語、タガログ語、ベトナム語、ミャンマー語、アラビア語、アムハラ語、スワヒリ語など他の外国語も勉強したほうがいい。英語をマスターしたことで欧米の言語はできるのだから、次はアジアかアフリカの言語。
日本語がネイティブであることを考慮すればアジアの言語はすでにひとつできる。じゃあアフリカっていうことで、アラビア語、アムハラ語、スワヒリ語を学ぶようにする。

リスニング何点以上を持って高得点と定義するのか?
→その定義は難しいが、本ブログでは450点以上をもって高得点とみなす。

どのような勉強法が有効か?
→文字起こし。カタカナ用語でディクテーションというらしいが、せいぜいテープ起こしレベル。

具体的には?
→公式問題集のリスニング問題はPART1~4まですべての問題文を文字起こし。
時間も労力もかかるので、一度に全部やろうとせず、少しずつやる。
たとえば公式問題集6のサンプル問題PART1の2問を文字起こししたら、問題集の文字を見て答え合わせ。
cupとかhouseとか中学1年レベルの単語すら聞き取れないことに愕然とする。
オーストラリア人などの狂人のせいもあるが、ここでは必ずしも発音記号どおりの発音ではないことに気づくだろう。
また、単語が二個以上続くとtやthといった子音がドロップする。
さらに、アクセントのないところはすべてあいまい母音であるなど、発音記号をまじめにやりこんでいたやつほどショックが大きい。
日常生活でなかなかでない単語という意味ではpaveやexcavationなども出てくるので、よく分からない単語があれば英和辞典だけでなく英英辞典も駆使して使用例を確認する。
逆に、日常生活でよく出る表現として、「イスラム国が人質を殺害しました」など英字新聞で見られる表現がTOEICでは出なかったりする。
